Charity Antiques Valuation Day Poundbury

Tuesday 24th September

Age UK North, South & West Dorset is thrilled to announce an exciting new event with Max Beaumont Fine Art and Consultancy, who will be hosting a series of antiques valuation events this autumn to support the local charity.

The fundraiser, featuring antiques valuations at a donation of £5 per item, will take place at the Brownsword Hall in Poundbury during September, October, and November. All proceeds from the valuations will go directly to Age UK North, South & West Dorset, helping to raise vital funds for the charity's initiatives aimed at supporting older people in the community.

Rachel Weiss, Chief Operating Officer of Age UK North, South & West Dorset, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming events: "This fundraiser promises to bring something different to our community. It offers a fantastic opportunity for people to have their cherished items valued while supporting a local independent charity. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Max Beaumont for choosing Age UK North, South & West Dorset as the chosen charity for this fundraiser."

Max Beaumont comments “ Jewellery, Silver, Watches, Ceramics, Paintings, Sculpture, Collectables and if you have an item of furniture , simply bring a photograph and the team can help – no appointment necessary! Teas, coffees and cakes will also be served and a charity raffle will also take place. Age UK NSWD receives no funding from central Age UK and therefore I am committed in helping them raise as much as possible through these series of events, whilst also having abit of fun – will we find a Picasso or long lost treasure?!”

He recalls the moment, whilst searching through ‘hundreds’ of books and papers and commented “I went into the gentleman’s study and began searching through piles of papers and there hidden in in a brown paper envelope was the book. OVER £1500 RAISED FOR POUNDBURY CHARITY

A virtual auction held via an online platform has help raised over £1500 for a Poundbury based charity. The Brownsword Hall located in Poundbury outside the Historic County Town of Dorchester, is a popular landmark to local residents. Unfortunately, due to the implications of the Covid-19 pandemic, the hall had cancelled most of its year-schedule causing a high loss in its annual revenue. The auction (November 2020) which was organised by the Brownsword Hall charity was to raise funds in aid of improvements to and maintenance of the hall and its equipment.

Max Beaumont was appointed to host the evening as Auctioneer which proved highly successful. Max Beaumont Fine Art & Consultancy also donated one of its popular Insurance Valuation services to the event. This led to being one of the most popular lots in the evenings schedule, causing fierce bidding amongst the auctions participants.

"HIGH HO SILVER!" PRECIOUS METALS HIT ALL TIME HIGH

Gold price hits all-time record as silver rises sharply to seven-year high. The price of gold jumped to a record high in the UK on the 7th August 2020 as precious metal markets across the world rose due to the current economic and political uncertainty. With global demand, we have since experienced a high number of enquiries from customers wishing to make the most of the peak and "strike while the iron's hot". There has also been a recent surge in the number of enquiries for revisions to contents insurance. It is estimated that six million UK households are under insured. If the worst happens this can be devastating for those involved and can result in significant financial loss. For further information, please contact 07864019134 or email enquiries@maxbeaumont.co.uk
